What should I do if I get a text message saying my password is about to expire?
Answer
To make sure your account remains secure, you are required to change your password every 3 months.
If you get a text message from IT telling you that your password is about to expire, don't panic.
As long as your password hasn't yet expired, you should log into your student account at college and then hold ctrl, alt and delete, or ctrl, alt and end on the keyboard to bring up a menu and selecting "Change a password" to create a new password.
If you are off campus, go to the College Website and click on 'My College' tab. Go to Password Reset and enter your student email address. (You may need to complete a captcha at this stage). You will be asked to enter your phone number, this is to send you the confirmation code to reset your password.
Remember to disconnect your phone from the College wifi and forget the network. This is so you can reconnect with your new password once it has been changed.
If your password has already expired, please refer to the following guide of what to do if your password has expired.
