I have lost my library book. What do I do?

Answer

If you have lost or irreparably damaged the item you have loaned from the library, the best thing to do is contact the Library Team. You will be asked to replace the item in either 2 ways:

  • Pay a fine equal to the replacement cost of the item. You will need to contact the Library Team to arrange this payment, and it may be spread over smaller payments at your convenience.
  • Purchase a replacement copy yourself and hand this in. You may need to speak to the Library Team to make sure you have the correct item details, such as ISBN number. Replacement copies may be bought second hand and should be in good condition. This is usually a cheaper alternative to paying the replacement cost.

As with overdue items, you will be unable to borrow further items until your account has been cleared.
