I tried to renew my books through my online Library Account but couldn't.

Answer

There are a few issues which may prevent you from renewing your items.

  • You may have reached your limit of unseen renewals. FE students can renew their books twice unseen, for HE students, this extends to four unseen renewals. Your Library account will indicate how many renewals you have used. If you have reached your limit, you will need to visit the library and have the items re-issued in person if you wish to continue borrowing them.
  • You may have an overdue item. Once an item on your account becomes overdue, you will be unable to renew any items on your account. You should visit the Library as soon as possible to return your overdue item(s). If there is a fine on your account, you will need to pay this before you can resume borrowing items.
  • Someone else may have requested the item. Other library users can place a reservation on an item you have on loan, placing them in a queue. You will be unable to renew your item, even if it has not reached the unseen renewal limit, and you will need to honour the given due date.

If you require further assistance or need help renewing your books, please contact the Library Team using one of the methods listed on the right.
